Financial Times: D-Wave claims quantum leap in computing power

"D-Wave Systems, the world’s only commercial seller of quantum computers, has doubled the power of its new system, transforming its speed and making it able to solve larger problems, from managing complex logistics and financial models to detecting cyber criminals.

The Canadian company says its new computer is up to several thousand times faster than previous machines, used by customers including Lockheed Martin, Nasa and Google. It has 2,000 qubits — the counterpart in quantum computing to binary digits or bits in traditional computing — compared with 1,000 on the previous machine." Read the article at the Financial Times
