Position: 

D-Wave’s systems software development team designs, builds, tests, documents, installs, maintains, and supports production-grade system software for our customers and internal development environments. The system software is the user interface to the quantum computer; it includes language specific client-side libraries, web services (cloud and on-premises), application programming interfaces (APIs), an on-line learning platform, programming examples, and user documentation.

D-Wave is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join the software development team. In this role, you will work closely with our product management and development team to guarantee high-quality software. Using your expert QA knowledge, you will be responsible for developing automated testing processes as well as manually testing our systems. Our end goal is to automate pretty much everything, but we're not there yet!

Responsibilities Include:
  • Creating clear and concise test plans and cases
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts in collaboration with the development team 
  • Working with DevOps to maintain test environments
  • Performing manual and automated testing
  • Reviewing requirement specifications, ensuring testability and understanding user workflows to construct regression and functional tests
  • Performing focused testing where applicable in terms of performance, accessibility scalability, usability, security and compliance testing, and provide recommendations 
  • Monitoring and tracking resolution of defects

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA 
  • Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Ability to write automated test scripts (Python and C programming preferred)
  • Experience in working with testing automation tools like Selenium and Jenkins
  • Experience using tools to track code coverage of tests
  • Ability to evaluate a product, feature requirements, user story or acceptance criteria and convert it into an actionable test plan and test cases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
